CYC participated in the Singapore Fashion Week Fringe Event in 2003 with a Create a Shirt contest and exhibition. 50 of Singapore’s top names in fashion and design left their artistic impressions on an unusual canvas – the ubiquitous white shirt.

In 2002, we organized an exhibition at Raffles Hotel to showcase  Minister Mentor Mr. Lee Kuan Yew’s shirts that were made by CYC more than forty years ago. One of the shirts had been especially sentimental for MM Lee as he had worn this shirt at the first National Day Rally in 1965 after Singapore became an independent nation.

The guest of honour at the exhibition was Lord Earl Ferrers from England. Lord Ferrers has been a client of CYC since 1960’s. Every visit to Singapore would entail a visit to CYC as well. A special feature of the exhibition was a giant shirt that was made by CYC. Visitors had the opportunity to take part in a contest to estimate the amount of fabric that was used to make this giant shirt.
